Near Chokoloskee beyond Everglades City, at the far W end of EVER NP. This Mound is possibly the highest midden in the Everglades NP. This of course is man-made, albeit a thousand years ago, and does not count as a natural highpoint. It was named a NHS by the NPS in 1978. It is relatively easy to visit via a small boat or sea kayak from Chokoloskee. There are ~30 mounds, covering perhaps 30 acres, on the E side of the Turner River perhaps a mile from Chokoloskee. The highest was noted in a scientific paper by Archeologist Willaim Sears in 1955 as being about 19' high. Personal inspection confirmed that it is at least that high, possibly even 20-21' above water level.
