| This could also just be called "Point 2019'". More formally, it is also referred to as "General George S. Patton, Jr's Kings Throne. It is an insignificant bump that would have little value to the peakbagging crowd, except for its rather unusual historical significance: During WWII General Patton used this area between the Chuckwalla, Chocolate and Orocopia Mtns to train his troops for N Africa, and it was from this small knoll that Patton set up his personal observation station, which many of his troops called his "Throne"! It can easily be reached from exit 182 on I-10 (one exit east of the Patton Museum at Chiriaco summit) then heading S on Gas Line Road. You can drive much closer than Gas Line Rd, but I recommend stopping there and do a walk/exploration to the short road Patton had bulldozed to the summit. Artifacts lie everywhere! Its also a good side excursion for those heading to climb the DPS listed Chuckwalla Mountain and/or the Little Chuckwalla Mtns Wilderness Area HP, and/or the P2K Black Butte, as the Gas Line Road connects onto the Bradshaw Trail.
