Double Mountains is the most topographically prominent, isolated range in this part of Texas, with very steep eroded slopes. It has 3 distinct Peaks, East (the Stonewall COHP), Middle and West. This West Peak has a 200 yards long flat narrow ridge, capped with a Communication Tower. A rough access road climbs its northern slopes.
