According to the USGS and GNIS, the real Mount Fremont is located to the east. However, the majority of reference books and websites assign the name to the highest point in the immediate area at the 7317-foot peak.

Please be considerate of the fragile alpine meadows in the area. The Park Service discourages off-trail travel in these zones. The best idea is to only walk on rock or snow, easier during an early season ascent. Or, use existing pathways and avoid creating any new ones.
