List Description

Following up on the hugely popular State Quarters program, the US Mint is currently putting out "America the Beautiful" quarters. Like the previous series, there is one coin per state, but this time the obverse features a scene from federally-owned land within that state, often from a National Park or National Forest.

Many of these scenes feature mountains, and this list is an attempt to catalog all of the peaks clearly visible on the coin designs. Not counted here are indistinct hills that are not clearly recognizable and are not the central element in the design. Also, it is sometimes hard to tell which peaks are shown on some of the coins.
