This list shows all peaks in New Mexico with an elevation of over 11,000 feet. 75 of the 85 "11ers" in the state are located in the Sange del Cristo Mountains, stretching south from the Colorado state line to near Santa Fe. The remaining ten peaks are scattered about in the Tusas, Jemez, Sacramento, and Mount Taylor ranges.
To be ranked on this list, a peak must have a clean prominence of 280 feet, which is generally equivalent to an interpolated prominence of 300 feet. This is the most commonly-used standard used in Colorado for the 14er and 13er lists in that state, and seems appropriate for New Mexico as well.
Many thanks to Phil Robinson, who asked for this list to be included on the web site, and who supplied many of the peaks on this list.
