List DescriptionThis list shows the highest peaks in New Mexico. All of the "12ers" in the state are located in the Sange del Cristo Mountains, stretching south from the Colorado state line to near Santa Fe.
To be ranked on this list, a peak must have a clean prominence of 280 feet, which is generally equivalent to an interpolated prominence of 300 feet. This is the most commonly-used standard used in Colorado for the 14er and 13er lists in that state, and seems appropriate for New Mexico as well.

Many thanks to Phil Robinson, who supplied many of the peaks on this list.
