List Description

Colorado is a very mountainous state, and this list reflects its variety of peaks. Fifteen of the approximately 53 famous fourteeners are on this list, and the high thirteeners here make nice alternative hikes to those over-exposed peaks. The list also includes a number of high points on the vast, flat high plains in the eastern third of the state.

John Mitchler was the first to complete this list, on 9/14/1996.

Acknowledgements

  • Personal research prior to 1995 had determined 23 of these points. I also added all information on individual peak pages, such as latitude/longitude.
