List Description

Slovenia is a small nation with a centralized government, and the principal administrative divisions are 212 very small municipalities. These are simply too tiny and too numerous to make a good basis for a high point list. So this site instead uses 12 Statistical Regions--these have no governmental function, but they are used by EU for many data reporting purposes. They provide a much more manageable and attractive high point list for climbers and hikers who want to explore the mountainous variety of Slovenia.

Acknowledgments

A big thank your to Rok Podgornik, who did most of the research into generating this list.
