I've been hiking and exploring the outdoors in different ways since I was a child. Although the lowly Mid-Atlantic Appalachians are my home mountains and what I grew up exploring, I still fell in love with the topography, rocky outlooks, tumbling brooks, and scenery they provide. My mind was blown when I first traveled to other parts of the country and the world where there are "real" mountains. I've always liked the idea of reaching the highest point of mountains or peaks, and preferred hikes with a summit goal. I have summited many peaks that are not listed here, but since I can't remember all the dates and other information, I am only including peaks I have summited since joining this site. I have a family and also enjoy cycling and skiing, but I am currently actively looking to devote more of my time to completing some of the lists on this site.
