Hi all! My name's Veronica Ashcroft (she/her) and I'm a transgender hiker in the American Northeast. I'm probably best known for my project this summer of taking a transgender pride flag up the Northeast 115, which is definitely one of the coolest and most rewarding things I've ever done! I have some links below to my reddit, insta, and a google drive folder with all the photos I did as part of this project, so feel free to check them out!

Currently I'm taking the winter off from peakbagging as I start to develop more advanced skills related to mountains (mainly winter mountaineering, backcountry skiing and climbing, in all their ridiculously complex and nuanced glory). Also, I'm in the process of acquiring a van to live out of so that I can do this shit full-time because peakbagging is so incredibly fun for me! Hopefully by March or so I should have that sorted out, which will allow me to start some other lists out east that I'm aiming to tackle in the same style as I did the 115 last year (with pride flags and all), so stay tuned for those!
Also I fucking love it when people reach out on peakbagger, so if you ever wanna chat, just let me know because that's one of my favorite parts about this site :) |
