I am a lifelong climber, having climbed hundreds of peaks in Europe, Patagonia, Alaska, Canada, and the US. Nearly all of my climbing has been 4th class or lower. I now use guides when there are 5th class sections. I am currently in the process of climbing all 57 of the Ultra Prominent Peaks in the Lower 48 (peaks with summits greater than 5,000 feet above the highest base of the mountain). I climbed Blanca Peak in CO on August 21, 2019, which was my 53rd Ultra, with only Diamond, ID, MacDonald, MT, Jefferson, OR, and Grand Teton in WY remaining. I would love to hear from climbers who have climbed MacDonald, which appears to be the least climbed of all Ultras, with only 47 claimed assents on Peakbagger's books. I am 70, a retired consumer class action lawyer and businessman, married with three grown kids. When I finish the Ultras, I will be looking for more partners to climb with. I have over a dozen climbing partners but with their careers, families, and my voracious climbing schedule, I am often looking for compatible climbing partners. If you have an interest in any of my remaining Ultras, or are looking for a climbing partner, please feel free to give me a call or shoot me an email. I also have an interest in winter mountaineering, and have two Seek Outside titaniam wood stoves for use inside lightweight backpacking tents with stovepipe jacks. Also looking for climbers seeking a winter climbing companion. |
