| 90-year-old graffiti on one of the vanes of the Mt Tumanang trig marker, NSW. A quick web search revealed that Harold Tozer was just a 17 yo lad from a nearby Jerangle farm when he carved his name into peakbagging history. Remaining a bachelor, he died in 1965. He deserves a page (2020-09-05). Photo by Ashley Watson. Click here for larger-size photo.
| A golden view from Golden Mountain, Victoria, SSE towards The Paps Number One and its unidentical twin. The pair of Paps can be seen on the left of centre, just above the ridge line. Semi-retired Aussie bloke with a longstanding interest in topography and orography. I love poring over maps and exploring routes up obscure named peaks, big (rarely) or small (commonly). Mostly concentrating my time and effort in the ACT and elsewhere in Australia. Have added just about every named peak in the ACT. Am also interested in toponymy - hence, for example, my "Sugarloaf peaks of Australia" and "Matthew Flinders peaks" lists. I'm also into confluences, having now bagged two firsts: 24S 129E and 23S 129E (www.confluence.org). Ascents mostly complete and accurate from 2015 onwards. Buddies (the non-registered kind) also mostly complete for this period, the main exception being the many ascents (polybagging!) of my backyard peaks: Davidson Hill and Red Hill. Happy to be contacted by those with similar passions. |
