Physics PhD student at the University of Idaho doing planetary astronomy research. I manage a Facebook group called "Geeks Climbing Peaks" which is a way to organize climbing trips for us amateur climbers based in and around the northern Rockies and Cascades. If you are based in the area and are looking for climbing partners, please feel free to request membership. If you aren't into Facebook, just shoot me a message. I am open to local day trips, as well as lengthy road trips to just about anywhere in the western US. My upcoming trips (contact me if interested in joining):

11/23/2019 - 12/1/2019: Ultras and other high prominence peaks in the Tucson area (confirmed)

3/14/2019 - 3/22/2019: Major peaks in Western Texas (unconfirmed)

Climbing goals I am currently working on (some much more actively than others):
1. The 50 state high points
2. The ultras of the lower 48
3. The Idaho 12ers
4. The major Cascade volcanoes
5. The Colorado 14ers

My ascent quality system:
1: Drive-up or very short paved path
2: Short unpaved path
3: Medium trail or short and easy scramble
4: Long and easy trail or sustained easy scramble
5: Long day trip or moderate scramble
6: Extremely long day trip or tough scramble
7: Two day backpack or very tough scramble
8: Three to five day backpack or basic technical climbing
9: Six to ten day expedition or moderate technical climbing
10: Multi-week expedition with technical climbing
