Male, Caucasian, DOB 1/7/49, brown hair and balding, blue eyes, overweight and diabetic, single, no drugs, no kids, no pets. Eagle Scout, Sierra Club Member, and my REI number is only five digits. Completed Sierra Club Basic Mountaineering in 1966 when they still did ice axe and rock climbing. Did my best hiking and climbing in my teens when the peak had to be 10,000 ft and the hike in had to be ten miles. Hiked San Jacinto seven times, Gorgonio 13 times, Baldy once. Hike Mt. Whitney at age 14. Successful ascents of Mt.Lyle and Mt. Humphries. But that was then and this is now. Today I am 69 years old and trying to lose weight, combat diabetes, and to do something with my retirement besides be a couch potato. I recently completed the Five Peaks Challenge at Mission Trails Park and am working on climbing every peak from every trailhead. Beginning with the Sierra Club 100 Peaks list, I am generally working from the bottom up and I am in constant search of partners for less-travelled areas, as well as the trailheads for any given peak. Follow my adventures on and on Facebook. I welcome comments from fellow hikers.
