In my opinion, all of the following criteria must be met for a climb to be considered successful: the center of your feet is above or on the highest point, or is less than 3 meters below the highest point; and, the center of your feet is less than 10 horizontal meters from the highest point; and, if there is a class 3 or above summit block, you ended up on top of it (unless the block is less than 3 meters above surrounding class 1-2 terrain, and is less than 5 meters wide, in which case the other criteria are sufficient for counting the peak).

Personal rules for multiple peak ascents: in order to count a peak more than once in a day, I must have walked either 1 mile away after my first ascent before returning to the peak or have encountered a 100 ft elevation change before returning to the peak. If I ever do alpine climbs or lots of rock climbing peaks, I will use the international standard for counting those ascents, which is no more than one ascent per day.
