Ascent Trip Report

Bagged this one after summiting Mount Lola. Followed the ridgeline north to another bump where a 3rd witness benchmark for Mount Lola was located next to a couple of poles. Just to the west at the base of a large rock I noticed another ammo can, but knew this was not Lola North. It turned out to be a memorial cache containing a bottle of Jack Daniels and some nice notes about the person to whom it was placed. As I was leaving, I noticed another pole just downslope to the west and found another very nice memorial plaque in concrete. After paying my respects, I continued along the ridge to the north. Spotted a large deer. Down then up to the summit. No benchmark, but a register in an aluminum water flask. Continued north to an ATV track and followed that down as it switch backed above the Cold Stream Meadow. Finally back to main dirt road and then to the car. 78 degrees @ 1 pm. This is such a beautiful area!
