Ascent Trip Report

My first proper ascent of a mountain on mainland europe and in the Julian Alp's...a long, steep and hard winding hike up but well worth it. It was a really interesting hike full of history from WW1 (Isonzo Front) and earlier such as a Tunnel, gun emplacements and fort hermann. There was also a huge complex arrangement of walls and shelters cut out of the rocks right up to the top of the mountain. Once at the summit we were rewarded with stunning views thanks to some amazing weather. A great feeling!
