Ascent Trip Report

With Sean, Noel and Ava. Left TH about 8:30am Via Foss River to Necklace Valley. Camped near Emerald lake just past Necklace cabin, below some slabby falls. Great spots for two tents. Could fit a third if two were right next to each other. Arrived at camp around 1:15pm. Quickly setup camp, hung food and took off for Hinman about 2:30pm. I wasn’t too happy knowing it would be long and I felt racing darkness. I wasn’t feeling so great with all the gain from the last weekend and Wednesday trips so was working very hard and was not in the best place f moods and did not appreciate the others joking. They are in much better shape than I and weren’t working hard at all so had no issues with feeling rushed by the daylight. Still lots of snow for us so very Little Rock scrambling boulder hopping. That probably helped speed it up so we made the summit, hardly any views as must coming in and out (another reason I had wanted to do it Sunday as supposed to be better weather day). Oh well. Back down and saw one guy with dog at campsite we saw below the waterfall. Chatted a bit then back to camp by 8pm. So we made it before dark and were able to deet up for bugs, have dinner, whiskey and chocolate before hitting the sack just as darkness fell.

Sva barely moved all night and I slept fairly well Noel and Sean decided to let me sleep in so that my mood would be greatly improved.

Up at 7:30am and set off at 8:30am back up waterfall route for La Bohn peak. Saw a very rare martin (mink like creature) run across snow and into brush while on the summit!!! Luckily Ava was napping...
