Ascent Trip ReportOk Dave, you and Becky are not the ONLY ones that can use these bumps as training runs. Look who moved to town! There goes the neighborhood!
Shame with all the trails in there, there are no trails to the 4 bumps. This one is not as exciting as the Top A which has a lot of rock to scramble to the top if you desire. This bump has only rock at the very top. Trying to get familiar with the national forest and the trails, I meandered all around getting my bearings. The bushwhack routes I took - put me in a typical dense lodge-pole pine area. I also looked for any of the trails to end up on a summit and checked out the two bumps on the other side of the ravine at elevations 8300+/- SW with no trail to top and the twin bump at 8250+/-. The latter, just NE of the intersection of trails does have a trail to the top, and thus, the only "summittable" top accessed by trail in the area but it has no more than 40 feet of prominence, hardly worth entering. I may have to enter it as a "provisional" peak so there is at least one point one can run up on a trail in the national forest that is not a bushwhack to claim. |
