Ascent of Jepson Peak on 2018-03-24Date: | Saturday, March 24, 2018 | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | Peak: | Jepson Peak | Location: | USA-California | Elevation: | 11205 ft / 3415 m |
Ascent Trip ReportWore trail runners up to 9800 ft on nice, firm snow. Switched to skis and skinned up to the summit of San Gorgonio. Traversed the icy and very windy ridge (wish I brought crampons) to Jepson and had a scary, steep, icy hard ski descent for the upper 800-1000 ft. Great skiing back to snow line around Dry Lake, then switched to trail runners for the last 5-6 miles back to the car. |
