Ascent Trip ReportThis was quite the surprise in terms of summit reward. I figured it was just going to be a flat boring field, but it turned out that the hills were rolling and alive with life. Just as we were pulling up onto the gravel road that would take us all the way to the high point there was a group of five pronghorn that sprang from the grass to run alongside the car and eventually pass in front of it. From the summit, we saw distant bison and heard innumerable birds and insects. The view really is panoramic. |
