Ascent Trip Report

This was an excellent local hike that is very unknown to hikers! The fact that it is a road walk to a cell tower I suppose diminishes it a bit, but the views are wonderful for this region of low, forested hills. The road walk is quick although a bit steep. There was a bit of snow when we went, and we spotted some bobcat tracks. You can walk around the cell tower to see in most directions. We could see all the way to the Whites on this clear day, as well as far into Massachusetts. There is also an area of ledges just to the southeast of the top with views over to Nottingham Mountain. Just walk in that direction from the turn in the road right next to the tower. We found an obscure herd path leading out to the ledges.
