Ascent Trip ReportBecause of snow conditions and early season, I chose to do this from the south on the Bear Pete trail. This is signed at Secesh summit, turn Left (NW) and follow the main road about 3 miles to Cloochman Saddle. The road to this point was in good condition and most vehicle should have no problem to this point. A well maintained trail starts here with plenty of parking and camping room. I was a little too early for this climb and fought a lot of snow in the treed area and north slopes. Fortunately the temperature was cool so the snow was not too soft.
I will note, the trail is primarily maintained to promote horses and mountain bikes, and has been rerouted several times to create a more gentle slope, and long switchbacks which add a lot of extra distance to the trail. Still, a nice trail. I wish the views had of been better.
Some sort of green generator box has been airlifted onto the top. I am not sure it's purpose.
