Ascent Trip Report

Successfully climbed to Mendon from Killington Peak.

Ascended to Killington normally from Bucklin Trail. Got to Killington around noon and had lunch there.
Then started heading south on the AT / LT. Around 3,800 feet just turn right and start heading down straight. I did not find any herd path there until a while. If you keep going, you will see a beautiful trail around 3,530 feet that makes it almost all the way to the start of the bushwhack. Follow the ribbons (Orange and Pink) up the top.

Note: I would have done it this way if I knew about that trail I mentioned above, but I bushwhacked much more as I was hesitant to turn to the right on the LT / AT Heading south with no sign. However, we were able to find that trail on our way back.

Finished the day getting to Pico and setting up camp there. All together it was a 13 miles day. It could have been shorter if we started on the fire road that gets directly to Mendon and then do the bushwhack to Killington from there but we had some friends that were not excited about bushwhacking or getting this peak that hiked with us to Killington and regrouped with us in Pico later in the evening.

If you are planning to go soon, bring a lot of big repellant. Bugs were really intense!
