Ascent Trip Report

Yudikench-5285-Salt-Peppper. Awesome traverse from Pioneer Ridge to Eklutna. See Dan the Man's GPS track for more details. Tons of sheep trails to link up, which is always easy on the ankles. If you do this in the May-June timeframe rotten snow along the ridge may slow you down and soak your feet. If you do this later in the season, water becomes scarce. Mid to late June seems like the perfect window for this traverse as there is still some puddles from melting snow along the ridge. This traverse took us ~14 hours, but we were slowed by rotten snow and we stopped to cook dinner.
