Ascent Trip Report

Ok this is one of those desperate cheap "peakbaggin" are in FL on sand and ...........well there aint much to summit. But fun to mark your travels so..........I Played on the dunes all day but most of the highest were man-made built up for the forts including the BM 34 Ruins which is not a natural HP. Think this is the best candidate for the highest ground within the park. $20 fee to go see the fortification ruins OUCH but that is an annual pass for any National Park. This land does not show up as a national monument like most forts but rather a tiny National Park. Frustrating site for assigning a "true" HP but this is my best guess as the other candidate spots have been washed out by large storm events and are now swallowed by the Gulf. If some researching purist comes up with better info or interpretation - great.......otherwise marking my spot on this journey with my brothers as the best guess since all the other BM spots on the USGS map that I visited were clearly man-made or altered and would not qualify (but some had nice views and history). I would not be too disappointed to delete this entry although I would kind of like to remember the day with my brothers so entering it - is like my travel journal.
