Ascent Trip ReportI picked up Dan around 4:00am, and Tim and Sarah followed us across the state. We arrived at the Cathedral Lakes trailhead at 8:30am. We headed up the trail and started up the west slope about three miles in. There was a bit of snow to contend with that made me wish I had my ice axe, but we navigated those sections without any issues. As we neared the top, I got stuck in a low-fifth class section that Dan helped me to downclimb. We set the anchor at the summit block, and Dan led the climb, belaying each of us one at a time. We were back at the trailhead a little after 6:00pm, and we drove to Mammoth while Tim and Sarah drove back to the Bay.
