Ascent Trip ReportMy gps led me astray, but I got it figured out and found the trailhead. From the side of the road it is only about a 1 mile hike along a not very strenuous trail. The trail is very well marked with red blazes and signs....despite what some resources may say....FOLLOW the signs. They will get you to the summit and a short detour to the WV/MD state line marker if you want to see that. I did and I also happened upon a snake which got my heart rate higher than the hike itself. The view is quite lovely and the summit is a very nice area (table, bench, summit mailbox with log, a post that I am assuming is there to set up a camera...or at least that is what I used it for). There had been a lot of rain so there were some very muddy, wet areas. I was glad I had my hiking shoes and not my nice tennis shoes.
