Ascent Trip Report

I made my way to Beaumont, Tx. I traveled I10 east and exited south on Hwy 90. Take the first street to the right. Then make another right on Magnolia street heading north. Make another right on Elm St. Then make a right on Pine St. Lastly, make a left on Marina St. I parked between the gate and the bridge.

I got there after dark on Memorial Day. No one was there so I hopped the gate and followed the road to the left all the way through the oil field. On the backside of the property is a unmaintained road going up the hill. During the day you might be able to stealth this one by going around the end of their fence at the bridge just west of the gate. If it was daytime I would have done it this way. Just don't let the snakes and alligators chew on you near this bridge! With nearly a flat top and tall grass I stomped around until I was satisfied with my effort.

This was the second of four counties in one trip. I next did Chambers and Galveston HP but being after midnight it appears that they are a different trip but they are not. After these four HPs and with no sleep I shower and hop on a plane to do Guadualupe peak.
