Ascent Trip ReportWhat a disaster! Summited Strawberry and Lawlor and planned to follow the "use trail" to Barley Flats. There was a light snow on the ground and all the brush was wet so in the bushwacking, so we too became very wet and cold and stabbed by all the sharp plants. I worried about the pup the most as he close to the ground and had little protection. I fell trying to cross a fallen tree and was stabbed where the sun don't shine(!) Going back seemed no better than fighting on but as we got close to the summit we lost any sign of a trail and just couldn't see a way through the brush. So we gave up, dropped down to the very overgrown old road below but it was also difficult to route find and was badly eroded in some places. Ugh, I was due for a little humility but I expected it on something a little more difficult than this, which, from initial impressions, we had planned to be a reasonably easy day. I don't recommend that crossing, or at the very least dress appropriately and bring patience and extra time to work through its frustrations.
