Ascent Trip ReportPart of a world wind tour of Fire Lookouts in the Colville Indian Reservation. 9 lookouts in 2 days.
From just north of Keller take the Silver Creek Rd for approx 14 miles. The road is in good condition although only the first the first 4 miles were paved.
Just a little past the signs for Ninemile-Hellgate Road (and sign for Johnny Goode LO - although wash out on that road I was unsuccessful to Johnny Goode).
Back to Whitestone, there is a sign for Whitestone. Follow the road the whole way staying right at the one "Y" just before the top. There was a tree down across the road less than a 1/4 mile from the top. Easy walk of less than 200 ft to the summit. I parked beside the remnants of an old log building.
It was a little windy climbing up the lookout. The gate to the catwalk was locked so I could not go all of the way up.
