Ascent Trip ReportExtra Credit. I estimate it was about three quarters of a mile to the peak from Sherman but with the meanders you take to avoid extra climbs and the route I used to get the best snow, I did closer to a mile each way. The peak is an easy scamper...very steep talus but never quite a scramble. I would call it a 2+ as you hands to come down in places. The views from this peak are outstanding. The best part of the extra credit was the snow plunge down to the saddle. I found perfect snow for a hell plunge run and dropped over 200 feet in no time. On the hike back I was surprised to see how far apart my footsteps were. It looked like I was getting 4 to 5 feet in between landings. That was a fun run down the snow slope. Although I called part of this a "snow climb" it was only because I was forced to hike up a snow field but the snow was so perfect and the slope so gradual it was a simple kick step up.
