Ascent Trip Report

The road up to the standard parking lot for the AT hikers was freshly graded so a very nice ride up to park. I had little time and it was supposed to rain later so I busted up the white AT and easily found the summit. There was only one view off this 1000k prominence peak but there was too much overcast for good views. There are some interesting markers on the summit for the start of the AT journey. One is from the 1934. On the way down, I headed down the Benton MacKaye Trail hoping to grab another extra credit peak. The trail does NOT follow the USGS trail (it has been moved), not realizing that, I headed off on a bushwhack at the marker sign of Benton MacKaye and ended up finding the trail later on down slope. See TR for Ball Mountain.
