Ascent Trip ReportPeak 9000 is a short, straightforward hike from The Elbow on Highway 4. I carried snowshoes and microspikes but needed neither. Most of the patchy snow was consolidated, resulting in minimal postholing. However, I was glad to be wearing gaiters while wading through the thorny brush on the lower slopes.
A short scramble at the top leads to a rock cairn and great views for such a modest peak. Not surprisingly, I didn't find a register.
