Ascent Trip ReportA very nice climb of Potato Peak, which does not look like a Potato. To get there, head out of Bridgeport on Aurora Canyon Road, at 4 corners, head south on Bodie-Masonic Road until you come to stream crossing at 8988 feet. Turn right before the stream, you will have to cross a spring which was easy in our 4WD vehicle.
The climb is mostly on road, some cross-country. The temperatures were cold, windy with snow at times. From Bodie peak you will enjoy a fantastic view of the town of Bodie.
