Ascent Trip ReportParked at Hogtown. Dacy Clearing gate was closed. After Sleeping Beauty, bushwhacked up to Erebus. Found the true summit, marked with a small rock pile and a metal canteen. Bushwhacked back down a different route, which took us down a wicked rock face. Had to shimmy down cautiously and lift Maximus (Ron's German Shepard)off one particularly dangerous section. The signs were pretty messed up to get back to Hogtown and we ended up on the Shelving Rock path, only to emerge at Shelving Rock parking are 1, which was a few miles from Hogtown. Luckily we flagged down a hiker driving past and he offered one of us a ride to Hogtown to get a vehicle.
