Ascent Trip ReportUp from the Sandstone Quarry to below Red Book Point (2nd).
Long traverse N along below the Red Book Point ridge, much 3rd & occasional 4th because the ridge is split with deep gaps, so lots of routefinding, back & forth.
Up to the Calico/Tank saddle. A million people out of nowhere, because of the "easy" trail that comes up from the Red Rocks Loop Road.
Up to Tank summit (2nd).
Back down unnamed canyon dropping SE from Tank/West Tank saddle, the most direct route to the car, which I mistook for Ash Spring Canyon. I read online beta that said this was "bushy 4th class." I encountered a few stretches of low-5th downclimbing & the usual desert canyon foolishness (ringtail cat; bees; SUV-size blocks; pack-grabbing oak thickets, a couple of forks ending in 50' drops).
