Ascent Trip ReportThe road to the trailhead is okay, and mid-high clearance vehicles can make it, but be careful with the tires. I had a flat, even with an off-road tire, though it was well-worn. Also, there were many more other people in the area than I would have guessed- about 6 other vehicles at the trailhead when we arrived, several other parties camped near the cabin, and maybe 20 people (in multiple groups) came up on Sunday (most for just the day).
The hike to the Hidden Forest cabin (which is where the water is, and hence where we camped) was straightforward. The "trail" was braided in several places, but following the canyon up wasn't a problem.
From camp, we hiked up the trail which gained the ridge to the northwest. It was hard to follow in a couple places early on, but got easier to follow after that.
On our way back to camp, we tried the canyon between the peak and the ridge we ascended, and found it far superior.
