Ascent Trip ReportOur group received permission to drive the 4x road up to the 7200' high saddle located SE of the peak. From the saddle, we followed a use trail west up the ridge to the radio facility and then north to just below the summit rocks, then bushwhacked several hundred feet through moderate brush to the base of the peak's south face. From there, we continued up the peak's south face to the summit, making a couple of awkward class 3 moves to get around a chalkstone and climbing up a high class 3 face. On the way down, our group descended a class 2 chimney, which is located at the saddle above the high class 3 face that we climbed up on. |
