|Date:||Saturday, April 14, 2018|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Motorized Transport to Trailhead:||4x4 Vehicle|
|Peak:||New York Mountains High Point|
| Elevation:||7533 ft / 2296 m|
Ascent Trip ReportHiked via Caruthers Canyon, then followed the Zdon route to the peak. Left the fiance and dog below the summit pinnacle, they napped while I went to the summit. Followed the Zdon instructions to circle the peak on the south and west sides, but ended up heading up too early and did some fun Class 3-4 scrambling/bushwhacking before encountering the standard route about 25 feet (vertical) below the summit. Would recommend ascending the canyon on the east side of the summit to find the Class 3 route, I descended this way and found it slightly easier.
