Ascent Trip ReportWonderful morning hike and run up to Boardman North. Used Mihai's trip report to find trailhead easily. One crux move driving to trailhead is to make the left turn to stay on Mines Road about 3 or so miles south of Tesla Road. Don't miss that turn.
Sun-up was 6:33 that AM and might have been a bit safer to get to trailhead 30 minutes earlier. But no cars passed as I hit the trail/road and was out of sight within 1/4 mile.
I hit the trail 6:15 am and hiked and ran to the peak, arriving 7:35. Ran almost all of the way down, and return time was 1:10, only 10 minutes faster. Interesting. No cars passed when I came back into view, got in the car and headed off.
Was back in car by 9:00 am and to Livermore of breakfast at a Taqueria downtown. Time on trail 2:45; time traveling 2:45. "Only" did Boardman and Boardman North.
Lovely, wide road. Lots of quail and other birds about the bush. No sign or sounds of fauna of the homo sapien species. There had been big rain the week before and thus just a bit of soft mud on the trial. A tree that could have been easily moved was down across the trail about 1/2 mile in, establishing that there hadn't been any recent vehicle traffic on the road. There seemed to be signs of horses on the trial, but not fresh tracks. Plenty of signs of cattle, but non up close during my time on the road.
CA CHP 49. Very tidy morning hike/run.
