Ascent Trip ReportDIRECTIONS
**Lillenthal is surrounded by private property. Proceed at your own risk if you have not received permission.**
The South approach on Egypt Road is VERY well signed. There's a ranch just down Bozeel Road but I was unable to contact owners.
I decided to try the North side. There is a Private Property gate shortly after turning off West Lane East. It passes a homestead shortly after. I was going to knock but didn't see any signs of activity or vehicles so continued assuming goodwill.
I followed the USGS topo until I encountered mud on the road. I then followed logging roads varying in age from a few years to a few decades old up the ridges to the summit.
I rushed as much as I could. Straightforward route choice following ridges which also contain logging roads, though some are decades old and grown over. Excavator in the saddle so there is current logging and/or road-building. Stellar views all around from the summit.
0/1 ACCESS - **Lillenthal is surrounded by private property. Proceed at your own risk if you have not received permission.**
2/2 REMOTENESS (Popularity, Sight/Sound) - you'll be the only person on the mountain unless there are radio crew at the installation
0/1 CONDITION - relatively easy to follow logging road
2/3 VARIETY (Flora and Fauna, Geological, Terrain) - alpine (logged) meadows, rocky summit block
3/3 VIEWS - clear sky allowed me silhouettes of surrounding peaks; uninterrupted views with the clearcut and burn in daylight
(does not include difficulty since hikers may prefer opposite extremes)
