Ascent of Asnebumskit Hill on 2018-04-01
|Date:||Sunday, April 1, 2018|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||1388 ft / 423 m|
Ascent Trip ReportOn the way up, we basically followed Jason Rossman's recommendation of starting down the Asnebumskit Ridge Trail, but quickly veering south to bushwhack a comfortable distance away from the structures. Partway through this process, we discovered a trail roughly paralleling our route that was much simpler to navigate than scrambling fallen branches and other plant growth. Therefore, on the way back from the summit (interesting graffiti house), we did not need to bushwhack at all.
Thus, I recommend the following route:
Begin at the Asnembumskit Ridge Trail trailhead. (N 42.30534, W 71.89856)
Follow the trail east, downhill, to a point where it intersects the remains of an old stone wall (N 42.30614, W 71.89674).
Turn south, following the trail that follows the stone wall, to a point where you see another trail veering southwest, towards on of the towers ( N 42.30272, W 71.89496).
Follow this new trail directly to the summit.
