Ascent Trip ReportA US Bureau of Reclamation Survey Monument sign is found near the mapped location of BM SOME. A "SURVEY CONTROL MARK" is under this sign, and both are set in concrete. The mark reads CORPS OF ENGINEERS U.S. ARMY and HARRIMAN INDEX. The mark has no special stamping on it. Also visited the contenders, one just to the NNE and the other further away at north east corner of section 31. Did some rapid sight level observations. The nearby NNE area may be a foot lower than the BM SOME area.
An uninspiring high point. Ours has been the first, and will doubtless be one of only 2 parties to visit this profitless locality. |
