Ascent Trip ReportThis one was quite boring. Took the redline (number 1) subway to the stop called "Christopher Street Station" Got out, got disoriented as usual (every time a take a subway I come up heading the wrong way)....finally got oriented and found the tiny little national monument "park" within 100 hundred yards of the metro stop. I made full 270 degree arc before I found it and crossed 5 streets before I realized it is actually the tiny strip of land you can see from the metro stop. Ha! No elevation gain. Nothing to write home about. This is one of the most uninteresting points I have ever done but at least I got my NYC subway orienteering down again was off to play in Central Park where there is some topographic relief, some boulders to play on. |
