Ascent Trip Report

Probably one of the toughest "country " to determine what counts as the high point given the extensive man made ulterations to the environment and the added complexity of land owned outside the Vatican proper being higher. In the end, at the time I toured, I decided to count the top of the basilica as having the true essence of the "high point" though next time I'm in Rome I will likely visit both the garden and the Papal residence for good measure. Normally I'm a huge sticker for touching the true natural high point and have bribed guards or snuck through fences of restricted areas to achieve the goal and have not counted the summit unless I was successful but given the ambiguity I do count this one.
