Ascent Trip ReportRight after driving 646 miles from southeastern NH, I parked off US 219 by the "Maryland High Point" sign and did an out and back via the logging road trail to the 3,360 ft. summit. Anywhere from 5-6 inches to 1-2 feet of unbroken powder along the trail, so I used snowshoes roundtrip. The last section before the summit area climbed at a steady grade and was a good leg workout, particularly with snowshoes and breaking trail. Good views from the summit (although restricted by low clouds). Signed the summit register, took some pics, hung around for a bit, and headed back the way I came.
Had the whole place to myself, which isn't something often said about state high point trips/hikes.
