Ascent Trip ReportWalk/drive up Peak. Take US 25 from Asheville or Greenville, SC and take the Green River Road exit. Drive west on on Green River Road for approximately .6 miles. Turn right on Cabin Creek Road. This road gradually ascends and intersects Pinnacle Mountain Road. Turn left here and reach the crest of the ridge. Look to your right for the communications towers. Park on the side of the road or drive up the gravel path to the Summit. Could not locate the BM. High winds today after a cold front passed yesterday. Was hard to stand straight. Beautiful views to the south and east. Catch this at sunrise for an even more spectacular view. |
