Ascent of Carmel River State Beach High Point on 2018-02-17Date: | Saturday, February 17, 2018 | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | Peak: | Carmel River State Beach High Point | Location: | USA-California | Elevation: | 138 ft / 42 m |
Ascent Trip ReportI was going to try and approach the HP from Cuesta Way, which is north of the HP but filled with homes. I drove past Ribera Road instead and parked along the Carmel River Beach part. I took my dog and we walked along the road until we saw an entrance to another place for beach access in the trees. From here we walked up, through brush and grass, to the fence line of the houses on hill to the north. This is the edge of the Carmel River State Beach. I looked for the highest land along the fence line and called it the HP, which is depicted on the GPS track. On the way back, we took the beach route back to where we were parked. |
